Role Overview

The Digital Marketing Assistant will support Samsonite Southern Africa and its associated brands by creating engaging content, managing social‑media channels and assisting with email and website marketing. You will work closely with the marketing team, external agencies and the e‑commerce department to grow our online presence and drive customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn the product range of Samsonite Southern Africa and its partner brands.
  • Write clear, eye‑catching headlines and copy for social media, blogs and email campaigns.
  • Brainstorm new ideas and strategies with the team.
  • Plan and publish regular, creative posts on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok and other platforms.
  • Monitor industry trends and adapt content to stay relevant.
  • Track and analyse key performance indicators such as engagement rate, follower growth, open rates, click‑through rates and conversions.
  • Prepare weekly reports with insights and recommendations for optimisation.
  • Respond promptly to customer comments and queries on social channels.
  • Coordinate briefings for marketing mailers and ensure alignment with social content.
  • Assist in sourcing content from Europe and creating website banners.
  • Resize and upload product images as needed.
  • Work with external marketing/TikTok agencies on campaign strategy.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues across stores, departments and external partners.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of major social platforms (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Experience with email‑marketing tools such as Mailchimp, Stripo, Klaviyo or similar (advantageous).
  • Excellent copywriting and storytelling abilities for social, blog and email audiences.
  • Comfortable using analytics tools to monitor performance and generate concise reports.
  • Proficiency with design software (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) is a plus.
  • Highly organised with strong project and deadline‑management skills.
  • Team player who can collaborate across departments.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team.
