The South African Police Service (SAPS) is looking for a detail-oriented Administrative Support Clerk to join the Office of the Divisional Commissioner: Visible Policing and Operations at its Head Office in Pretoria. Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or an equivalent NQF Level 4 or higher qualification.
  • Language Proficiency: Must be fluent in at least two official languages, one of which must be English.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (completion of relevant courses is advantageous).
  • Criminal Record: No past or pending criminal or departmental cases.
  • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
  • Work Environment: Ability to handle pressure and work beyond standard hours when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

The Administrative Support Clerk will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient office operations. Responsibilities include:

Document & Records Management
  • Typing reports, letters, and memorandums.
  • Managing document flow to and from the Divisional Commissioner’s office.
  • Keeping accurate records of distributed documents.
  • Capturing and reviewing all incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Administrative & Secretarial Support
  • Assisting the Divisional Commissioner with administrative tasks.
  • Managing the official diary, scheduling meetings, and handling visitor coordination.
  • Arranging travel and accommodation.
Systems & Compliance
  • Overseeing the bring-forward system for document tracking.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly vehicle returns.
