Key Requirements:

  • LLB degree (NQF Level 7) recognized by SAQA
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience drafting commercial contracts (advantageous)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of South African Constitution and Public Finance Management Act
  • Familiarity with public service legislative frameworks
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of Contracts Directorate
  • Draft and review commercial contracts/service agreements
  • Provide legal opinions on contractual matters
  • Conduct legal research and develop organizational policies
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements and legislation
  • Manage departmental resources and mentor junior staff
