Education: Matric + Weather Observers Certificate (NQF 5)

Core Responsibilities

Operations & Equipment Management

  • Conduct precise weather observations and data collection
  • Maintain meteorological equipment including calibration and repairs
  • Monitor air quality monitoring station performance
  • Implement quality control protocols for weather data

Process Improvement

  • Analyze meteorological patterns for service enhancements
  • Develop data quality improvement strategies

Compliance & Administration

  • Maintain SHEQ standards and risk management protocols
  • Manage operational documentation and audit processes
  • Supervise junior technical staff and shift rotations

Essential Requirements

  • Valid Code 8 driver’s license
  • ICAO AMO and WMO BIP-T certifications
  • Proficiency in meteorological data interpretation
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills
