Service Manager Position Available: Economic/ Governance and Administration (Cape Town)

The Department of the Premier, Western Cape Government, is seeking a highly qualified and competent Service Manager to oversee the ICT services for the Department of Agriculture. This permanent role based in Cape Town/ Elsenburg offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in ICT management to lead and develop strategic services in governance and administration.

Key Responsibilities

In the Service Manager role, you will:
✔ Lead a team of ICT professionals that provides essential services to the Department of Agriculture.
✔ Guide the development of departmental IT plans, including capability mapping and alignment with broader government goals.
✔ Manage the applications portfolio management strategy, roadmap, and inventory for the department.
✔ Ensure strategic alignment with key stakeholders, particularly within the Department of Agriculture.
✔ Oversee the analysis of business needs, user requirements, and objectives for approved ICT projects.
✔ Coordinate business requirements for broadband and enterprise network needs for the Department of Agriculture.

Minimum Requirements

📌 Educational Qualification:
✔ A 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma or B-degree) in Information Technology.

📌 Experience:
✔ At least 5 years of experience in ICT management, with 3 years in a management position.

Desirable Experience

📌 Relevant experience in LAN and WAN technology.

Key Competencies

🔹 Knowledge of Public Service Acts, policies, and regulations.
🔹 Strong ICT infrastructure and security knowledge.
🔹 Expertise in business and systems analysis, project management, and technical standards.
🔹 Excellent strategic planning, communication skills (verbal and written), and report writing.
🔹 Strong presentation, workshop facilitation, negotiation, and conflict management skills.

Remuneration

💰 All-inclusive Salary Package: R 849,702 per annum (Salary Level 11).

Note: The remuneration package includes various service benefits such as medical assistance, housing assistance, and pension-fund contributions, in accordance with applicable prescripts.
