  • Position Title: Specialist: Performance, Monitoring, and Evaluation
  • Remuneration: R931,352.88 per annum (total cost to company)
  • Location: Metropolitan Centre, 158 Civic Boulevard, Braamfontein

Minimum Requirements:

  • Educational Requirement: Matric/Grade 12, B.Com Degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field (NQF Level 7).
  • Experience: 5-7 years in performance management and monitoring & evaluation (M&E).
  • Additional Requirements: A valid Code 8 driver’s license, and willingness to work extended hours and be on standby.

Primary Function:

The role focuses on managing performance management systems, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and processes, and leading the strategic planning for performance evaluation across various departments. The specialist will analyze performance data, compile reports, and provide recommendations to senior management.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Manage the development and implementation of a performance management system within the office of the Executive Mayor.
  • Coordinate performance monitoring and evaluation activities, ensuring alignment with predetermined indicators and targets.
  • Produce reports on the department’s performance and strategic planning.
  • Lead the implementation of governance and risk management strategies.

Competencies:

  • Leading Competencies: Strong writing and reporting skills, ability to manage stress, attention to detail, and team collaboration.
  • Core Competencies: Knowledge of local government policies, performance management systems, problem-solving, and time management.
