About the Role
The Junior Preparatory at St Stithians College is the gateway to a fifteen‑year journey through the school. It provides a nurturing, co‑educational environment for Grades RRR, RR, R, 1 and 2. After completing Junior Prep, students move on to the Boys’ Preparatory or Girls’ Preparatory.
We are looking for a Classroom Teacher Assistant to support the class teacher and help create a safe, engaging learning environment for our youngest learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate small‑group activities under the direction of the class teacher.
- Assist the class teacher with classroom duties in Junior Prep.
- Set up indoor and outdoor activities for the children.
- Support the After‑care programme as needed.
- Use technology confidently to aid teaching and learning.
- Promote diversity, inclusion, and the Methodist Christian ethos of the college.
- Participate in the broader life of the school and work as part of a collaborative team.
- Maintain a high standard of care and supervision for young children.
- Provide proof of registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE) and a current sexual offender clearance certificate.
