State Accountant: Financial Accounting

Job Purpose
Provide support in managing and reviewing financial accounting services in alignment with legislation, frameworks, and departmental policies.
Requirements
- 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree in a relevant field
- 1+ years’ experience in financial/management accounting
- Knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and financial systems (e.g., PERSAL, LOGIS, BAS)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with financial reporting and reconciliation processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable/receivable and suspense accounts
- Oversee bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring
- Authorize payments and validate banking details for high-value transactions
- Prepare financial statements and monthly reports
- Supervise cashier functions and compliance audits
Core Competencies
- Knowledge of Public Service financial regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and team collaboration
