Position: State Advocate – DPP: Johannesburg

Experience Needed: Minimum 5 years legal practice

Essential Qualifications:
- LLB degree or equivalent legal qualification
- Right of appearance per Section 25(2) of NPA Act 32 of 1998
- 5+ years’ post-qualification legal experience
- Proven expertise in prosecuting common law offenses (fraud, theft, forgery)
- Strong track record in commercial crime litigation
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct criminal investigations and initiate legal proceedings
- Prepare legal documents including charge sheets and indictments
- Represent the State in all court levels
- Conduct trial proceedings including witness examination
- Handle appeals, reviews, and motion applications
- Collaborate with criminal justice partners and stakeholders
