Job Description

As a Store Driver at Dis-Chem, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of products to customer locations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Transporting products safely and efficiently to customers
  • Prioritizing fridge line deliveries using cooler boxes and cold packs
  • Using the most efficient routes for deliveries
  • Returning to the store promptly after deliveries to allow for additional trips
  • Ensuring no damage occurs to stock or vehicles
  • Accountability for damages or losses during delivery
  • Special care for fragile and hazardous products
  • Following delivery instructions from management
  • Verifying collections, store returns, and inter-branch transfers
  • Ensuring delivery paperwork is signed
  • Confirming customer details before delivery
  • Processing payments via EFT or cash
  • Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and security during deliveries
  • Inspecting the vehicle before, during, and after trips
  • Reporting accidents or incidents involving drivers or company equipment
  • Adhering to road traffic rules and regulations
  • Maintaining good relationships with internal and external customers
  • Upholding professional behavior with customers
  • Reporting customer feedback to management
