About the Programme

Sun International, operating as Afrisun KZN (Sun Sibaya), supports South Africa’s skills development agenda. Through the Sun Sibaya Bursary Scheme and work‑readiness programmes, we offer a 12‑month National Certificate in Gaming Operations Learnership. Successful learners will receive an NQF Level 4 qualification and gain practical experience in the gaming industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect work area and ensure all equipment is ready for service.
  • Maintain cleanliness of your station.
  • Report and follow up on any equipment faults.
  • Welcome guests with a friendly smile and professional courtesy.
  • Clear slot machines on designated days and perform daily counts.
  • Enter data accurately into the system.
  • Identify and report any suspicious transactions.
  • File and maintain required documentation.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Matric certificate or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • Valid South African ID.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Willingness to work shifts, including in a smoking environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a well‑presented appearance.
  • Self‑motivated with high initiative and drive.
  • Physically able to stand for long periods and move machines or tools as required.

Skills & Competencies

  • Eligibility for a gaming licence.
  • Basic knowledge of gaming components.
  • Emotional resilience and good listening skills.

Additional Information

The appointment is subject to licensing by the KwaZulu‑Natal Gaming Board. This is a learnership position; permanent employment is not guaranteed. Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups in line with the Employment Equity Act and internal recruitment policies.
