Technical Official: Customer Network Centre (Distribution) – Caledon, Western Cape

Position Details

  • Employment Type: Full Time
  • Education Requirement: Matric with Maths/Science OR NCV4/NCV3/N3 Engineering (NQF4 with 120 credits)
  • Experience Needed: 2+ years in distribution network operations/maintenance
  • Location: Caledon, Western Cape
  • Department: Engineering/Technical

Key Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license (EC/EB/C1) with Public Driver’s Permit (PDP)
  • LV Authorization certification

Technical Knowledge:

  • Operation of power systems up to 33kV
  • High/medium/low voltage line construction
  • Eskom operational standards and safety protocols
  • ISO 9001/14001 quality standards

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on distribution networks
  • Conduct routine system inspections and minor construction work
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Respond to service interruptions and customer needs

Required Skills

  • Equipment operation (cranes, drills, elevated platforms)
  • Team leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures
