About the Role

Reporting directly to the Trade Marketing Manager, the iStore Trade Marketing Co-Ordinator plays a vital role in executing shopper marketing initiatives within retail environments. This position primarily focuses on supporting iStore Africa, while also assisting iStore South Africa as needed. The aim is to ensure that all in-store marketing efforts, merchandising, and brand communications meet the highest standards set by both Apple and iStore.

The selected candidate will serve as a brand ambassador within the stores, fostering consistency, operational excellence, and seamless implementation of various marketing initiatives, including marketing collateral, displays, demo experiences, and retail activations.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics & Marketing Asset Management

  • Coordinate the packing and dispatch of marketing materials for campaigns to retail locations.
  • Oversee the design, production, allocation, and stock levels of staff uniforms.
  • Maintain POS inventory systems and ensure the timely replenishment of core marketing elements.
  • Organize and control the marketing storage areas to keep them tidy and well-stocked.
  • Continuously update store placement guides to guarantee consistent campaign messaging.

Store Visits & Retail Audits

  • Conduct regular store visits and compliance audits in designated regions.
  • Evaluate merchandising execution, pricing accuracy, uniforms, and the standards of marketing collateral.
  • Assist with audits and readiness assessments for new store openings.
  • Produce comprehensive post-visit feedback reports that include action plans.
  • Ensure all demo devices are functional, visually appealing, and ready for customer interaction.

Store Builds & Upgrades

  • Support the implementation of marketing elements for new store setups and refurbishments.
  • Identify and report any missing or damaged fixtures during the setup process.
  • Coordinate requests for demo units that align with approved planograms.
  • Aid in the planning and execution of store opening events.
  • Verify build orders against the approved merchandising and furniture plans.

Campaign Execution & Compliance

  • Facilitate updates to in-store print messaging as part of campaign efforts.
  • Gather and verify photographic Proof of Action (POA) evidence from the stores.
  • Support the tracking and verification of campaign rollouts and implementations.
  • Distribute marketing assets for campaigns across partner malls.

Pricing Support & Administration

  • Oversee digital in-store screen content updates to align with campaign timelines.
  • Manage and circulate price guides while maintaining the Digital Catalogue.
  • Ensure accurate store trading hours and relevant information are available on online platforms.
  • Compile monthly reports, New Product Introduction (NPI) trackers, and Apple SLF documentation.
  • Assist in ad-hoc reporting requests and other marketing needs.

Staff Communication & Alignment

  • Create promotional cheat sheets and conversation guides for staff.
  • Lead bi-weekly alignment meetings with store teams.
  • Draft weekly internal communications for marketing, training, and accessories teams.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Participate in accessory merchandising meetings to ensure brand compliance.
  • Engage in planning meetings for store builds and proactively identify risks and concerns.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Trade Marketing Manager regarding project planning and execution.

Minimum Requirements

  • A relevant degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2 to 3 years of marketing experience.
  • Previous experience in retail or brand management is an advantage.
  • A valid driver’s license and the willingness to travel between stores.
