Trainee Manager Opportunity at Dis-Chem Pharmacies – Middelburg Store

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Trainee Manager to join their Middelburg store. This exciting opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to learn and develop their skills in retail operations, guided by experienced management. The Trainee Manager will undergo hands-on training in a range of retail management duties, gaining insight into stock management, customer service, expense control, and more.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• 1 to 2 years of experience in retail management (including stock management, cash handling, customer service, and reporting)
• Diploma in Financial / Admin or relevant 3-year diploma
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Willing and able to work retail hours
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport

Key Responsibilities:

• Stock Management: Oversee stock movement, including processing goods in transit, conducting cycle counts, stock takes, and addressing shrinkage. Ensure efficient stock flow to the sales floor.
• Promotions and Displays: Assist in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of promotional stock displays across FMCG, Health, and Beauty sections.
• Sales Targets: Support management in achieving sales targets and assist in promoting and executing in-store promotions.
• Cash and Expense Control: Assist in daily cash-ups, reconciliation, and monitoring store expenses.
• Customer Relations: Address customer complaints, promote loyalty sign-ups, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Human Resource Support: Assist with staff management tasks, including leave management, scheduling, and training.
• HR Systems: Support workforce management and HR policies through the use of systems like KRONOS.
• Store Maintenance: Ensure store cleanliness and adherence to Dis-Chem’s health and safety standards.
