Dis-Chem Pharmacies is offering an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Manager at their Witbank store. This role is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of retail store operations, under the supervision of an experienced store manager. As a Trainee Manager, you will take on a wide variety of retail responsibilities and gain valuable experience that will help shape your future career in retail management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- 1 – 2 years of experience in retail management (including stock management, cash control, reporting, expense management, and customer service)
- Diploma in Financial/Admin or any relevant 3-year diploma
- Computer literate, proficient in MS Office
- Willing to work retail hours
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
Job Responsibilities:
- Stock Management: Oversee stock processing, cycle counts, stock takes, and addressing shrinkage. Ensure proper flow of stock to the sales floor.
- Promotions & Displays: Assist in the planning, execution, and maintenance of stock displays, especially in FMCG, Health, and Beauty sections.
- Sales Targets & Goals: Work closely with store management to help achieve store sales targets and contribute to achieving promotional goals.
- Financial & Expense Control: Help in monitoring daily cash-ups, managing store expenses, and ensuring accurate stock adjustments to the correct GL accounts.
- Customer Service: Address customer complaints, ensure efficient service, promote loyalty sign-ups, and provide feedback on customer issues.
- Human Resources: Assist with HR duties, including scheduling, leave management, and staff file management. Support the implementation of HR policies and training.
- Store Operations: Support various store operational functions, from goods receiving to compliance with company internal control procedures and policies.

- Strong business acumen and the ability to interact effectively with suppliers, reps, and staff
Special Conditions of Employment:
