Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) is offering an exciting opportunity for unemployed South African graduates to gain hands-on experience in Information Systems, Informatics, and Cybersecurity through its Young Professional-in-Training programme. This two-year structured development programme is designed to provide institutional learning and on-the-job training, helping participants build solid work experience and enhance their employability.
About the Programme
This initiative is open to graduates aged 18 to 35 who have completed their studies at Department of Higher Education & Training-registered institutions, including Universities, Universities of Technology, and TVET Colleges. Over the course of 24 months, successful candidates will receive mentorship and structured training, with biannual assessments to ensure that their growth aligns with both personal career goals and Transnet Freight Rail’s operational needs.
Participants will be assigned to various departments, depots, and operational divisions within TFR, gaining exposure to real-world business and technology challenges.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must meet the following requirements:
✅ South African citizen
✅ Between the ages of 18 and 35
✅ Hold a National Diploma, Diploma, BTech, Bachelor’s Degree, or Honours qualification (NQF Level 6 or above) in:
- Information Systems
- Informatics
- Cybersecurity
✅ No prior work experience required
