Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) is offering an incredible opportunity for unemployed South African graduates to jumpstart their careers through its Young Professional-in-Training programme. This two-year structured development programme is designed to equip graduates with practical work experience and industry knowledge, boosting their employability in the long run.
About the Programme
This initiative targets graduates aged 18 to 35 who have completed their qualifications at Department of Higher Education & Training-registered institutions, including Universities, Universities of Technology, and TVET Colleges. The programme includes a combination of institutional learning and on-the-job training, ensuring participants gain hands-on experience in their chosen fields.
During the 24-month training period, candidates’ progress will be monitored through biannual assessments to ensure alignment with both personal career goals and TFR’s expectations. Successful applicants will be placed in various departments, depots, and operational divisions within Transnet Freight Rail.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
✅ South African citizen
✅ Aged between 18 and 35 years
✅ Hold a National Diploma, Diploma, BTech, Bachelor’s Degree, or Honours qualification (NQF Level 6 or above)
✅ No prior work experience required
